Why don't the Chicago Bears have cheerleaders?

Via Chicagohoneybears.net
The Chicago Bears are one of just six franchises that do not currently have cheerleaders.

But, did you know that they once did?  They were called the Honey Bears and Papa Bear himself, George Halas, had a role in creating them.  Back in 1976 Halas decided that his Bears *should* have professional cheerleaders - or as he called 'em "Dancing Girls" - on the sidelines joining the Cowboys, Redskins and others.

Through 9 glorious years, the Honey Bears performed for and encouraged Da Bears only to be disbanded after the 1985 season where the Monsters of the Midway won Super Bowl XX.

It is time to bring them back, isn't it?

Join us in signing our petition to bring them back!  We'll deliver this to the Bears and their ownership to demonstrate that we want to "Bring Back the Honey Bears!"
